Like I said before, one of my favorite choreographers is Emily Shock. If
you didn't know what I meant by "her musicality is out of this world",
watch this. I think I've watched it already 500 times. Enjoy.

Grateful for Such Brilliance
I think about this weekend & I'm like... is this for real? I was
more than excited to be back at my old studio to take some master
classes with Barry Youngblood & Emily Shock. Last year was the first
year Starstruck had this specific camp called "Rocky Mountain Dance
Team Workshop"- an opportunity for dance teams to work with guest
choreographers. It was also my first time working with Emily Shock- a
definite must on my bucket list of choreographers to take from. I took
the camp last year as just an individual even though it was geared more
towards teams. So this year I was excited to be back at it while also
being able to take from Barry which I hadn't done before. His hip hop
classes were just straight fun. The energy was so high, and while I
probably lost 3 pounds of sweat during his classes, I couldn't stop
laughing, smiling, and enjoying the choreography in his classes. Then
there is Emily. I watch her choreograph and I feel like I am watching
something so eccentric & one of a kind. Her musicality is out of
this world. I was able to assist her during her jazz classes & then
was able to learn a spot for Macy (who happens to be on a mission
in Africa right now- you go girl) in the senior contemporary piece which
by the way, turned out genius. I am so thankful for opportunities like
these.

The Best Type of Surprise
My sister and I were told a few months back that we would be taken on a
"mystery trip" in the beginning of June for Mom & Dad's 30th
Anniversary. You have to know how strange this is coming from Steve
& Suz Nevin... I love them to death but they are not exactly
spontaneous. Katie & I were only told to pack our bathing suits and
clothing for warm weather, but we weren't told anything else. When we
arrived at DIA we saw we were headed for Atlanta, GA. When we landed, we
were surprised with a family dinner at our favorite- Del Friscos! Then
the next day at breakfast we were told that we were now headed to Sea
Island. Katie and I did not know much about the place, so we were
excited to be taken somewhere new to us. Let me just say... the vacation
was hands down one of the best in my life. Good ol' Steve-O really
pulled through for the girls and bought us all massages and facials at
the spa. I never wanted to leave! PS... check out the picture below of
the crab I ate one night at dinner. It was bigger than me, but so
delicious!
